Today is Election day, and our oldest son is 6 and half and he is starting to understand a bit about politics he declared this morning which candidate he wanted to win as he saw what was on the morning news. I asked him what he thought the President did, and he answered, "He fills out lots of papers." I told him yes he does but its more than that he gets to help make laws, congress helps come up with the laws and he passes them to make official. I tired to be as simple as possible. Anyway at school he wrote in his journal about the class election, it was between a farmer and a duck. Have your ever heard of the book Click Clack MOO, Cows that Type? The kids decided who should be president the Farmer or the Duck. In the journal he wrote "For Election day I am chering for famer Brown becus he is a hard worker. I do not like Duck becus he wut to be the bosu!" Do you need a translation? Duck wants to be the BOSS, is what he meant. I asked him who won and he said, "Duck and I voted for him!" My response was, "What?! You wrote you were going to vote for Farmer Brown. He smiled and said " I know I just wrote that but I really wanted the Duck to win." I looked at him and said, " YOU are known as a flip flopper son, welcome to politics!"
Some education in politics is needed in our house, not sure what all he can handle but first up is keeping your word when you say your going to do something do it! LOL
Now we are going to tune into the news tonight until he goes to bed and try to explain how this whole thing goes down......

My dad was is so frusterated this year with everyone in politics I think he escaped it all by heading north and hunting some turkerys in PA. He needed to shoot something....
Not sure who is for right now. He use to be a dem not he's just mad. Pretty much like most others.
