Pre Halloween Festivities

Happy Halloween!  Today is the big day for many kids and ours are super excited to go out tonight and get some candy.  This night however isn't the only fun they've had; I was counting up in my head how many parties they get to attend before the Halloween day even arrives.  We had a Chili Cook off  and a Trunk or Treat two weeks ago at chruch and each boy has had a party at school and there was a playgroup that Garrett got to go to as well.  Then there is tonight of course, these kids are spoiled!  I also remember the excitement in the air as a kid to go out myself so I can't blame them, dressing up as someone else for a day sounds like a fun escape to me as well!
Now to the costumes!  Garrett already had a lion costume that Brady had worn a few years back and so I was thinking about our little girl and the thought hit me Dorthy!  How funny/cute would it be to put her in a costume like Dorthy!?  So I was going to have my mom help me make the dress and a few weeks ago she emails me and says, "Don't be mad, I haven't had time to finish the dress so one is coming in the mail to you this week.  I bought her one!"  So the next day sure enough a dress arrived and I tried it on her, and she is so cute!  Brady was our hardest one because he keeps changing his mind!  We got the movie The Wizard of Oz and watched together as a family, I told him to pick out another character but he didn't want to, he wants to be a pirate.  He has been one before so I said OK, even though I was sad we'd not all be matching.  So here is our family before the Trunk or Treat!

Brad had his tonsils taken out the day before so he came stumbling out of bed to take this picture for us, he didn't go because his throat was on fire and he just wanted to sleep, more on that later.....

We also carved our pumkin out last night, this year Brady wanted to "design" our face.

He does not however like to feel inside the pumpkin he thinks its gross, can't say that I blame him.  Garrett however was willing to get in there a grab some stuff.....

not so sure how he felt about it after! We went out side to see it all lite up and they were excited but Garrett wanted the lights on so he wasn't in the dark.

Brady wore his costume to school today and was totally excited about the party this afternoon.  Tonight we are gathering together with friends and eating some dinner and hunting for candy together! Happy Halloween.
