Today we were all excited to see what the baby was going to be a boy? A girl? My sister in law came to help with the boys because they wanted to come to the ultra sound. So we met Brad at 4:00 in the afternoon at the doctor's office and shuffled into the dark room excited to see what was to come. The lady that was taking the pictures was Christy- love her!! She has done this for 18 years so we knew she knew what she was doing. She showed us the heart and head and arms and legs (they were criss crossed) we kept waiting she said she would tell us at the end. Once we took all measurements she went to get a closer look. All she could see were two little feet! They would not move, she didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. So she looked at us and said,"I'll help you out if you have time to stay and are willing to move around." Of course we were, I had every person I knew wanting to know what this baby was! So we began, one side, then the other, back to flat on my back. Then we tried getting on all fours and wiggling around, ( I have no shame!). Nothing.
Seriously? I started to get nervous, Brad was very calm. So we tried both sides, and she'd say "OK, now roll really fast see if that helps. " Nope nothing, she asked if I could go to the bathroom maybe that would help. So I did that and then after a bunch of more moving she thought she saw a glimpse! She thought it was a girl! She wasn't positive but kept pushing and moving around, and then got a little better glimpse. She is 85% sure its a girl. And that she saw NO signs of a boy part. Right as the kids were getting restless and we were about to give up I think she got a pretty clear shot, so she said feel free to tell people its a girl. It took an HOUR! I was so happy we were her last appointment for the day because we would have had to leave if it were earlier in the day!
What does this say about the baby inside me? Will she be stubborn?
Maybe she is just really chill and doesn't want to be bothered? One can only hope. We are super excited, Brady is happy, Garrett not so much. But he will get use to it. Brady has always had this imaginary sister and now he gets a real one! Now we just have to give her a name.....ugh that has always been hard for us so any suggestions let me know!
Garrett was hoping he'd get to post this one of him with the "boy balloons". So I put it on just to make him feel better.

Oh my gosh I'm excited! What an afternoon. Glad you got Garrett on here with his boy balloons, but I'm so glad you've got a girl! Yay!
Sooo excited for you guys Dana! Can't wait to see Brad turn into even more of a softy once this girly comes. We should do a clothes swap or something! And I'm also really glad to know that I wasn't completely aloof when you came by for the pool key and I forgot to ask. Glad you had a patient lady that finally figured it out for you guys! :D
