We go to church each Sunday, we pray as a family each night, I would rate us as a good old fashioned wholesome family. Then I got a wake up call on Sunday, my two almost three year old STOLE from the CHURCH! Yup, how could this be you ask? I dropped him off at his little nursery class and he was greeted by two wonderful teachers (one of whom is our Branch Presidents wife!) and off he went happy as a clam. Two hours later I came to pick him up, they said he had a good day and off we went to get his big brother. As we were walking down the hall way he looks up at me and says, "Momma I have play dough."
Me, "Oh really did you play with it today in class?"
Garrett," Uh I have play dough in my pocket." And his little sticky fingers go to his pants pocket where he pulls out some play dough.
Me"Wait, What?! Garrett let me see your pocket."
I bend down and sure enough he took the whole container of green play dough and stuck it in his pocket! So I turned him around and marched him back to his class telling him along the way that its the Church's play dough and he could not take it home with him. We reach the door and I tell his teacher Garrett has something to say. He looks at her, she looks at him smiling not knowing what was coming.
"I have play dough in my pocket!" He says happily. She started cracking up! I told her I am sorry and that I didn't know what he had meant at first and started pulling it out of his pants. She told me they didn't understand how they had lost an entire container of play dough but was just glad I hadn't made it home and had thrown them in the washer. They said they would start doing pat downs before he leaves class! Is this a sign for the future of things to come?? We will be having a family meeting about stealing immediately. Just had to right it down because I thought it was funny. And as a warning to anyone who is around the little guy to watch your valuables.

Hahaha! I'm afraid for my phone and iPod. But I love how he just owns it, straight up. That kid killllz me!
Too funny!
That's it, I'm hiding ALL of our play dough the next time he comes to visit! ;-) You have to admire his guts. Not only stealing.....but from church to boot! Not too shabby for his first time! Hahaha.
Oh my! What a hoot!
I had no idea you had a blog! Your little guy is so cute I would have let him keep the play dough!
Awww, so cute!
Great story Dana. I have a "stealing" story that goes with each of my kids and to the best of my knowledge, none of them have made a career of it! I laughed at the idea of a nursery "pat down" before leaving with parents! Your birthday cake photos in the preceding post are absolutely adorable. I hope we actually get to see you guys now and then now that Nat and Kent have come back to Utah.
