Back to school Eve

I was checking the scene on facebook tonight and realized that parents are just as emotional about back to school time as kids are, and it was fun to read peoples' thoughts on the subject.  Some are excited to get the kids back into a routine while others mourn this time because they wish they'd have their kids around all the time.  Brady is going to be in first grade tomorrow and I kind of can't believe it, really where did the time go?  He is super pumped he has friends already in class and is sitting by a whole gang of them on the first day, he laid out his clothes next to his bed and has his lunch packed ready to go.  I am quick to admit I love a good routine and Brady thrives on a good routine.  So this is a good thing we are starting tomorrow, we will take the whole family with us to see him off, and take the "first day of school" picture that every kid needs in their scrap book right?

But this summer was a blast too, our kids were spoiled I mean really they got to do so much!  See both sides of the extended family, and at home they were littered with play dates almost every other day.  They even made some new friends, this last week we went out on a walk down at the Crystal Bridges area and got to explore, eat, shout, and throw all kind of rocks and sticks into the creek.
So glad that my kids have good friends to do all kinds of crazy fun activities.
New and old friend at the hike.....aren't they cute?

Close by I saw this sign and had to take a picture of the boys....I just couldn't resist!
Then I tried to teach them how to make a heart, can you see it?

They found a flight of stairs they just had to climb, it beckoned them and they obliged.  I on the other hand was comfortable at the bottom with the baby....
Garrett had been playing with that stick all morning long, glad we did one last hike before school started.  Garrett will start preschool next week and he is super excited to go into a "real" classroom with a teacher who isn't his mom. Here is to a really great new school year!!!!  Good bye summer it was a blast!
