Valentines day was almost a month ago, I know I'm behind but the day was full of surprises and I don't want to forget it anytime soon, so I want to document it all. Valentines day landed on a Tuesday this year and so we didn't make any huge plans because it was a school night and we have a baby that isn't sleeping through the night. I just didn't know if I could keep my eyes open long enough to gaze into my hubby's on some romantic dinner. I could just see myself mumbling "I love you." as I laid my head down on the table and pass out. Not so romantic. The night before our dear Jillian decided to be extra fussy so in the morning I had totally forgotten what day it was, Brady jumped on my bed and excitedly told me "Its Valentines day!!!" Oh yeah, he had already eaten cold cereal so my idea of heart shaped eggs and pancakes didn't happen. Whoops. I told him I'd make it up by going to his class party that afternoon.
So the plan was this go to the party at 1:00 and come home and play have a fun dinner with family, and have the boys give Dad our gift. We decided this year to be cheap and not spend more than 5 dollars on each other, we know we love each other and we don't have to spend a ton of money to show it. So that was our promise to each other.
You should know my husband is a liar.
How the day actually went was I had a play date for Garrett that morning and when it was over his friend wanted him to come over to his house instead of join me at the school party. Garrett really want to keep playing with his friend so I let him go over and play longer. Jillian and I arrived at Brady's classroom to have our own surprise Brad was standing right behind Brady at his table. Brady was super excited to have BOTH parents at his party! I asked him what he was doing and he said, " I got all my work done as fast as I could I went to my boss and told him, my wife didn't get any sleep last night its Valentines day I'm going home to surprise her and tell her to take a nap!" Insert the awwww here right? I know I sure did, thanks dear! I gave him a big hug and told him he didn't have to do that, I can manage to make it. So we partied with Brady for about an hour till Jillian decided to have a huge blow out in her diaper. I took off to change her and get Garrett home and met Brad at the house. On the way home my neighbor texts me and said, " Hey I know its last minute but we want to watch your kids tonight, so make plans to go out to dinner!" Really ?! So nice! I told her if I could sleep for a moment I might take her up on it, Brad made sure that I did and so I got a nap and dinner that night!
Present time came and the boys were super excited Garrett picked out a heart shaped lollipop that was decorated like a baseball and we got Brad a heart shaped box of chocolates as well. They gave him his gift and yelled "Happy Valentines Day, I love you!" I gave him my special card that I got made just for him! See below.....
Brad gave me his card and it had a gift card to the spa. See he is a liar, he spent WAY more than 5 dollars on me, makes me look bad. I called him on it and he said, I know but you have been so tired lately you need this which maybe me true so I told him he could use the card for more than one day! Wink, wink = ) So that was our day much nicer than I had planned and I am so grateful for it, Brad and I had not gone on a date just the to of us since the baby was born, and she slept through dinner another treat for us! What a blessed day, hope your day was just as awesome!
Can you see what is says? These pictures were taken by our 5 year old just in case you were wondering....but not bad eh? Love my little men and little lady!
