Getting Wet.

Last week was a really busy week, we did multiple things each day and by Friday we were exhausted.  One of the things Brady did was take private swim lessons.  We really wanted this summer to be the summer he learned to stay afloat with out any help.  He isn't afraid to put his face in the water and was really excited to have a teacher all by himself.  On Friday we went to the splash park to cool off and let them do something fun.  The boys had fun like always, but Brady said to me, "Mom how come you come to the splash park in a swim suit but you never get wet?"  I told him I just wanted to watch him play and didn't think much of it.
The next day was Saturday and because we had been gone all week our house was dirty and pretty much trashed.  So we had to clean we started cleaning by 9:30 and had a huge list.  It took a while and at 2:30 we were finished!  Yes it was really that bad.  But to celebrate we went to a friends pool to go swimming.  Brady was going to show us his swim moves!  He complained to his dad about me again, "Mom always wears her suit but never gets wet.  So I decided he was really upset cause I didn't play with him.  So I realized that we had been so busy that I never really played with my kids last week and I was going to make it up to them at the pool.  Both Brad and I were in the pool with them for 2 hours straight.  We had squirt guns and practiced swimming, went down the slide a bunch and had a wonderful time.    Brady could actually go across the pool with out stopping all by himself.  He doesn't look like the most elegant swimmer but I think he has improved so much!  So happy that his lessons paid off!

This whole experience made me stop and think about where I put my priorities and how I can't go into over drive all the time.  I have to stop and get wet.  This is a lesson I am hoping to remember through out the summer and will get better at each day.

P.S. aren't these towels the cutest thing ever!?  My mother in law sent them as Christmas gifts and we get compliments on the all the time.  I have two friends who looked at them to see if they could remake them for their own kids since I had no idea where she got them from.  Thanks Natalie!!!

Dana there will always be time to clean the house, even long after the boys are gone! Cherish each minute you have with them now and don't worry about getting wet or messing up your house!!!
