Teotihuacan Pyramids

On my third day of the trip (Thursday) we went to Teotihuacan Pyramids which was really cool. We had read all about them the day before at the museum and so with our group all together at last we headed outside the city to see the pyramids. Leaving the city and seeing the country side was cool. It was really sunny, and warm, have I mentioned I LOVE the weather there?

So this the group (left to right) Noelle, Stacy, myself and Melissa. We all knew each other way back in High School yup, its been about 15 years that we have all known each other. Noelle, Melissa and I all went to the same high school while Stacy we met through our church. Its so fun to still see each other after all this time.

OK this is what we hiked to get to the top. The people that made these steps I'm sure had tiny feet because each step was about 4 inches wide; so if you have bigger than a size 5 shoe you looked very carefully where you stepped. One thing I learned while there was that Stacy is very afraid of heights so she opted out on going to the VERY top, you could climb up one set of stairs and look out and then onto another until at the very top. Melissa and I wanted to go to the top so that is where the next couple of pictures are at. Of course being with Melissa we had to take silly pictures. In cause you have not caught on she is the instigator for silliness.

One pyramid over looks another, one is representing the Sun the other smaller one is the Moon.

See how happy we were to get to the top? Of course once there we took many more pictures but I won't bore you. We also met some American students, how ironic that we travel thousands of miles to Mexico and Melissa meets kids from Iowa? She is moving there this summer and is a little um.......nervous about it. These kids were super sweet and tried to convince her is would be fun. I think they might have had her until they mentioned it snowed there last April!!!

Later that night we went out to eat at the Thai Restaurant. Oh my goodness it was so GOOD and fun. We got this meal that brings out THREE courses, two huge platters at a time with all kids of different kinds of food to try.

Pretty huh? Look how sophisticated Melissa looks you'd never know she was dancing on top of a pyramid a couple of hours earlier!!

You really enjoyed yourself! I hope you and your friends can do this every so often; you were high energy when you got home and it's evident that you loved being with them. Dana I like the background change on the blog here - it's kind of funky! Hope everything's back to normal there. Love you all and miss you - Mom/Nat

Hey Dana. Looks like your Mexico trip was so fun. I have been catching up on everyone's blogs today, so I read pretty far back on yours. The post about your cousin totally made me cry. I'm sitting here at work crying like a baby. She seemed like an amazing girl.
