The day after the pyramids we started our journey of shopping....and more shopping. We started at this place that had tons of little shops and vendors all over. We walked and talked and looked at all kinds of stuff. This is where I bought my boys a wooden recorder and a sling shot. Yes I know a sling shot is just asking for the windows in my house to be broken, but I told Brady he would only play with under the conditions of being outside with DAD!
Anyway after shopping that day we went to a soccer game that Noelle's son was in, wow to watch the Mexicans play soccer.....
They are very serious even at 7 lets just leave it at that.
I'm starting to get my days mixed up but I think we went to the quesadillas stand that night. Now you saw the great pictures of the Thai restaurant, this stand was more of what you might worry Mexico looks like. This woman wears plastic bags over her hands so she can try and be clean. BAGS not gloves.

Do you see in the bottom corner of the picture those two folded seats? That is the seating accommodations that they have at this fine establishment. Noelle just looked at me and muttered, "Just don't think about it and just eat." I was kind of worried that I was going to get some kind of bug and spend the rest of my trip in a bathroom. But then they placed this in front of me.
Really its good.......so good in fact we crept out at 8:00 at night three nights in one week to eat there. You have to go when they first open so that you get the "good oil" and freshest food. I never got sick so I would say I was watched over by a higher power that week.
The next day we went to Taxco. Its this cram packed town that has an old world charm to it. It was a silver mining city so you get tons of silver there really cheap! We learned how to barter and came away with some cool stuff.

There was so much to look at we wandered all over until we didn't know where the heck we were any more.
Great minds think alike. I picked this up and told Noelle I really like it, she did the same. 35 Peso later ( $2.50) we had BFF rings!
Like I said we had gotten lost so we decided we take the fine Taxco public transportation to a restaurant and back to the car.
This is a Taxco Bus, Stacy was sitting where that lady who is holding on for dear life was sitting. I was inside next to a very large Mexican women holding on to Stacy so she would not fall out. Melissa was in the front seat with the driver, Noelle was in the back trying to explain to the Mexicans that we were not crazy, Stacy just giggles a lot when her life is being threatened.

These are the Taxi's that we should have tried to squeeze into instead. But it was Mexico and we are all about having the "experience", and no one died so its all good. After that we sat on the roof of the restaurant and had lunch and saw this view.

That helped us settle down and we were able to finish up our shopping and head back to Mexico City. We laughed the whole way home as we told stories about our past and um, someone had a confession that they had to let go of......it still makes me laugh just thinking about it. But that is another post for another day.

What great adventures! Especially since you were with your BFs. (Of course, BFF!) I can't wait to read more posts. Love you guys, have a fun weekend.
I really want to eat one of of those!! I want to go visit Noelle.
Ok, I was in the front seat with the drive and 3 other people!
I must say, Taxco was pushing my level of comfort. Maybe I was tired, maybe I was turning 30. But, I still wish I had bought more.
Miss you!
