The First Year

Garrett its your first birthday! I don't know how a year has passed so quickly, on July 10th of 2008 I started feeling my belly squish into a ball and pains started to come. I was so excited to see and meet you! The feeling must have been mutual because you came quickly (less than 4 hours) and surprised us all. You were so small and delicate, we fell in love at first sight.

Nine days later you became ill and that was a scary time for us all, to this day when I think about how sick you were it makes me quiver with fear and anxiety. We prayed a lot for you my small prince and were lucky you came out of the infection with no side affects and have been healthy ever since.

You grew into a big baby, and so easy to manage. Your whole family loves you, your big brother is so excited that you are getting big so he can chase you around and teach you how to tackle.

And now that you are a year old we celebrated with friends and cake! Look at your first cake!! Actually you got two one for everyone to eat and one just for YOU.

You were ready to chow down as soon as we stopped singing to you.

Look at you trying to be all polite and eating so nice and neat. You are my little boy.

Then you said forget it and got down to business. Tired to use a big fork to get all that goodness in at once. Don't blame you it was good.

You are so happy! I hope each year you look this happy and not just because of cake. I hope that you know how much you are loved little one. Happy Birthday my Prince.
