Its Labor Day and we have no school, no work and today is all about playing! Last year we had beautiful weather and went to Tanyard Creek to play games, eat a picnic, and go for a hike. So this year we wanted to do it again when we saw the weather was sunny and a high of around 79!! This summer has been blistering hot with records made left and right so by boys thought it was cold this morning when they woke up to a cool 70.
We decided to see if any of our friends wanted to join us and spread the word. Wow we were surprised when tons of friends decided to join us! I think we lost count after 10 different families showed up with blankets, baskets, balls, toys and a guitar to be played! The funniest thing is that every family had BOYS in it. Seriously one of the kids counted and at one point I think there were 21 boys under the age of 12 and 1 girl! Then lucky for us another family showed up with one girl and then one more. But the girls didn't seem to notice, and fun was had by all. So much so that I forgot to take a camera to capture the mayhem. Brad took one picture of Brady at the falls who slipped and fell INTO the water. This is why we bring extra towels and clothes to these types of outings. Be prepared, there must be a reason I'm a cub scout leader!
We all agreed next year the tradition continues and we will all meet again to play and enjoy the day off! Thanks to all our friends, our boys had a great time because you came!
