The small stuff....

This picture makes me laugh so much. Not just because he looks so happy, funny, and kind of ridiculous but because he is so happy! He was at his small group preschool and we decided to teach the kids about giving gifts. We each took a toy that we had in our house that we no longer played with to give to another kid. At first Brady did not want to give up any toys. His head hung low, slowly walking around the house. He needed to learn about this tradition of gift giving.
The toy that he picked was this bag of little stuff, and he got a Lowe's apron, and goggles. He told me he was going to take them swimming. I had to explain how you use these kind for protection when working like "Handy Manny". So he wanted to get all dressed up ready to work...

It makes me happy to know that the little things make him happy. It was an inexpensive gift that put him over the moon. I hope that we can continue this thought process as he gets older. Any hints on how to do this?
